It is classified into three types: high-level, intermediate-level, and low-level, with each type must be disposed of according to its risk to human health and the environment. Nuclear waste management process includes planning, treatment, packaging, storage, and disposal. It is regulated by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which is responsible for nuclear facility decommissioning, disposal and management worldwide.
